The cleaning way of DurkeeSox® duct system

Duct dismantlement

1、Confirm the cleaning time, make a washing progress plan according to project drawing and actual condition on site.
2、Arrange the operators and prepare all necessary tools and facilities(ladder, scaffold, etc) for dismantlement and formulate a detailed construction procedure.
3、Shut down the AC units and guarantee the on-site safeguard to prevent damaging on-site facilities or DurkeeSox® duct system.
4、Confirm the connection position of each zip. Start from the inlet(where DurkeeSox duct are connected to traditional duct). Unzip and draw back the duct body from the inlet zipper to next zipper, Unzip the next zipper and put this duct segment away. Follow the same way till the last duct segment, release the end fastening with end cap. Put all the disassembled duct segments orderly at the appointed place to prevent duct damage or contamination.
5、Check the tag and make marks to avoid dismantlement missing or incorrect installation(generally, ducts should be marked orderly )
6、Arrange dismantlement step-by-step to clean according to clean progress schedule.
Note: For IRR duct system, remove the inner retention system from the duct as following
Cleaning of the ducts

A company or washing factory can be chosen for the cleaning according to dirty condition or company cleaning capacity.

1、Choose the proper cleaning company with large industrial washer and dryer as DurkeeSox® ducts are too long; large operation area and professional cleaning qualification
with rich experience of washing also required.
2、Inner surface of DurkeeSox® duct is usually very dirty since the it's used as air supply tunnel. To ensure cleaning effect, it needs turn over all the duct before cleaning.
Turn over the duct and cleaning with water firstly.
3、Cleaning: cleaning with cold or warm water (15℃~30℃) to remove the surface dust of the inner wall.
Note:
① Long duct tangle up easily during the washing and not easy to separate, meanwhile the blind angle (not washed evenly) for cleaning will exist in condition of washer full loading. The volume of single washing is suggested not beyond 1/3 of washer volume.
②The temperature of water for cleaning should be neither too high nor too low,15℃~30℃ is better, ultra-high temperature will damage the permeability of material and the duct is easily crumpled, which affects the appearance.
③ Cleaning once or twice with washing powder or washing liquid for 5~10 mins each time depends on the dirty situation, 1~2 times is enough.
4、Deep cleaning of the reverse side: wash with cold or warm water(15℃~30℃), special detergent with common detergency can be added properly.

Note:
① Do not add any softener (laundry detergent with softening function)、bleacher or intensified chemical detergent to avoid damaging materials.
② Wash 5~10 minutes, 1 or 2 times according to duct pollution degree.
1.For the reverse side cleaning, rinsing one time(5minutes) is OK.

2.For right side cleaning, take out the duct and turn over, use special detergent to wash by the same way. 1 or 2 times according to pollution degree. Qualified standard of cleanliness: Clean surface without any dirty attachment, accessories are complete, such as zips and clips, etc.
3.Ducts folding & Counting: fold ducts orderly and count to avoid wash missing or loss.

4.Ducts transport: Prepare the protection procedure of ducts to prevent the secondary pollution after cleaning and delivery to the project site for installation.
Ducts installation

1、Marked all the cleaned ducts in order as the above picture.
2、Install the duct system from the inlet segment, hook the clips, do avoid the location where the clips might be blocked.
3、Install the whole duct system in order, zip up, then cover the zippers with duct revers.
4、Straighten the whole duct after installing the last segment, make sure all the clips are hooked well.
5、Check whether each duct segment is straight、smooth or broken. Then you can start up.
6、For IRR duct system, it needs put the retention bar into the duct firstly, then fasten the two ends of the bar together with connector.
Notes:
1、Formulate a cleaning progress schedule in the principle of without hindering normal work.
2、Any differences between the drawing and on-site condition are subject to on-site condition and make special marks.
3、When you are marking, note that the location near zippers have been already marked with serial numbers which can be used as marking basis.
4、The instruction mentioned above is for cable suspension system; for track suspension system, just slip in or slip out the DurkeeSox® duct system from the track.
5、The cleaning mentioned above is the for ordinary class B material; for class A material, manual work is required rather than a washing machine.
6、DurkeeSox® special detergent is suggested for cleaning.
7、The color of fiber material is probably getting darker during the cleaning in condition of serous pollution. We suggest add medium effect air filter and FAF(fabric air filter).
8、Please find the washing performance standard of DurkeeSox® duct system materials as attached.
